How are we funded?

The Wishing Well is a charitable organisation (registered charity number: 1180756). We actively seek funding and charitable partnership opportunities with local, regional, national and international organisations.

In addition to this, with our social enterprise model, we generate a large proportion of our income via our popular meal deliveries service, day care provision and café facilities at Eagle Bridge Health and Wellbeing Centre and the Pickmere Bistro. Any surplus from these ventures allows us to develop neighbouring initiatives such as family drop in sessions, homelessness provision and youth clubs.

Our external funding is generated through close partnership working with Cheshire East Council. Our education, older people and disabled children offer is supported by this Local Authority.

Join the success

Partners

Our partnerships within the private sector include: UK Fuels / Radius, Bentley Motors, Network Rail, South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce.

We also attract regional and national investment to support our services through grants from Lottery funded organisations such as Grow Wild UK.

Wishing Well activities are community-responsive and led, and whilst we employ around 30 staff our services are mainly delivered by local volunteers supported by students, mainly from MMU or the local schools and colleges. All staff and volunteers are trained in necessary and relevant skills to their responsibilities, such as food hygiene or first aid. Most of our staff began as Wishing Well volunteers and all staff and volunteers are DBS checked.
